Yung Simmie – High Up (Video)

by .

DIRECTOR: Roberto Mario
PROJECT: BM3

Fresh off of his Basement Musik 3 mixtape, Miami’s own Yung Simmie drops off the first set of visuals following the release. In the spirit of the title, “High Up” was shot in extra high quality thanks to South Florida visual virtuoso Roberto Mario—who graces the video with 4K optimization. Throughout the clip, Mario portrays Simmie and fellow 275 member High AF (the song’s producer) posting up in an apartment, plotting, and smoking up some high grade of course. Gat$ – “12 (MuriKKKan Dawgs)” (Video)

by .

DIRECTOR: FXRBES
NEXT PROJECT: #HEELtv

Hailing from the 813, Gat$ enlists South Florida’s FXRBES behind the lens of his new video for “12 (MuriKKKan Dawgs).” As it is just shy of being two months away from the release, #HEELtv is now available for pre-order. As for the video, FXRBES properly executes the emotional feel of the song by delivering the sociopolitical message with imagery of alcoholism, candle-lit memorial and chalk outline. Ronny J – “Lost Cause” (Video)

Last month, C9 producer Ronny J (responsible for hits like Denzel Curry’s “Threatz” and “Ultimate”) took to SoundCloud to unveil his single as a self-produced solo artist. At nearly 4-minutes long, the song is essentially a lament about a girl he once saw hope with, but at some point deemed her a “Lost Cause.” The Miami-by-way-of-Jersey multitalent has not been short of busy as of late—releasing an EP earlier this month and having placements on both Yung Simmie’s BM3 and SDotBraddy‘s upcoming Private Sessions album. Definitely be sure to keep up to date with him on Twitter and SoundCloud, as this record is a sign of more hits to come. Click the player above to watch the SVNTWNTY-directed video.

Kodak Black – “SKRT” (Video)

by .

DIRECTOR: Unkle Luc
PROJECT: Heart of the Project

Pompano’s finest is back with new heat. This time, he recruits South Florida creative director virtuoso Unkle Luc (known for Denzel Curry’s “Threatz” and Future’s “Trap N*ggas”) for visuals to pair with his single “SKRT.” While this track is nearly a year old (from his 2014 Heart Of The Projects mixtape), so are much of the tracks that have attributed to Kodak Black’s recent success (cosigns from both Drake and Meek Mill). This can mean one of two things: his next releases will either not live up to the hype, or the music yet to come from this 18-year-old Floridian will be some of the biggest the region has seen in a while. We hope for the latter, and maybe the Drake and Meek beef can even be resolved through mutual appreciation for the young rising star. As he continues to shine, enjoy what easily looks like Kodak’s best visuals to date in the player above.

Lil Champ FWAY – Gold Slugs (ft. Prez P)

PRODUCER: Og SuniDee
UPCOMING PROJECT: Aqua FWAY
RELEASE DATE: TBA

In a typical FWAY God fashion, Lil Champ generously graces fans with a previously unreleased track featuring fellow Miami rapper and frequent collaborator Prez P. Entitled “Gold Slugs,” Og SuniDee’s modern Miami take on a DJ Screw-meets-G-Funk vibe makes for a perfect blend with the respective verses. It goes without saying, Champ and Prez are two of Florida’s Natural, so this collaboration [should not come as a surprise] is always a good look for the local scene. Throughout the song, the two explain how there is no sugarcoating when they introduce their city to the out-of-town females:

“Yeah, we’ve got the beaches, pretty people everywhere / but it’s the home of the bricks; home of the sticks.”

Yung Simmie – BM3 (Basement Musik 3)

Opa-Locka native Yung Simmie recently released the third installment of his Basement Musik mixtape series. The 16-track project boasts in-house production from fellow 275 members HighAF and Yung Icey Beats, while recruiting additional beats from Purp Dogg, Ronny J, M9 Beats, Louie Haze, Jay Splash, Two Fresh Beats, and Reazy. Simmie continues the trend from the previous Basement Musik by straying from guest features, making each beat an open canvas for Simmie Pollock to paint murals on. Overall, at the young age of 21, Simmie is on his South Florida hustle, with an impressive eight mixtapes under his belt. Hit the player above to stream BM3 and feel free to download it via LiveMixtapes.
