Rolling Loud Roll Call: Da$H

by .

While the uninformed might assume Da$H came out of the woodwork within the last year or so, especially given his young age, but that is surely not the case. Before this Hackensack, New Jersey native was given the official A$AP stamp, he was touring with Ski Beatz, MURS, Tabi Bonney, and his Uncle Dame Dash during the DD172 glory days several years back…before there was a “Pretty Flacko” and any sort of A$AP craze. Since then, he has released over 6 projects, the most recent being V.I.C.E.S., which includes production from the likes of Mac Miller and Thelonious Martin, as well as appearances by Action Bronson, A$AP Ferg, and Vince Staples. As his career continues to flourish, along with his rapping comrade Retch (one half of their group Heirgang), Da$H will be setting off Rolling Loud Festival on February 28th.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: J NICS

by .

When it comes to Miami talent, as far as Hip Hop is concerned, J NICS is one of the ruling elite. This is a man who sports the “305” area code with pride on all accounts. He’s not Uncle Luke, Trick Daddy, or even Rick Ross status, but he is certainly Miami OG status. NICS has been releasing music since the early mixtape era, collaborating with notable national acts like Freeway, Freddie Gibbs (as seen in the video above), REKS and pretty much every talented Hip Hop act from Florida including JT Money, Denzel Curry, ¡Mayday!, QuESt, and plenty more to find with a quick google search. His status as a representative of the city remains relevant, as in recent times he was a featured artist at last year’s A3C “305 LIVE” showcase in Atlanta. He continues to make music, perform, host, and make appearances at popular nightlife events in the area, especially during Art Basel (the photo below was taken from Basel Castle). Let’s put it this way, he’s so Miami, that he went to the same high school as Randy Shannon. He’s also so Miami, that he will be performing at Miami’s own Rolling Loud Festival on February 28th. It truly wouldn’t be a Miami Hip Hop festival without him.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Juicy J

by .

Straight out of Memphis, Tennessee, Juicy J has come a long way from Three 6 Mafia fame. Although, winning more Academy Awards than Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio is a rather impressive accolade to have with the group. As a solo artist, Juicy has accomplished plenty, collaborating with major music icons such as Justin Bieber and Usher, earning a nomination at this year’s Grammy Awards for “Dark Horse” by Katy Perry, and continuously setting trends in and out of Hip Hop. As if things couldn’t get more trippy with Juicy J, he recently took to Twitter to announce his February 16th release date for Blue Dream & Lean 2. While fans indulge in the new material from #BDL2, they can prepare to see the man in the flesh as he headlines Rolling Loud Festival on February 28th.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Eric Biddines

Traveling many light years to Earth from PlanetCoffeeBean, Eric Biddines is undisputedly one of the hardest working artists in South Florida right now. His unique ability to captivate crowds, along with his soulful, country-fried, progressive Hip Hop sound is exactly what draws people in. From touring with Danny Brown to premiering multiple music videos on MTV Jams and gaining attention from numerous media outlets in the past year, Eric’s vision is surely coming to fruition for all to see. After a FADER premiere this month for visuals of his single, “Purple Gold Fishes“, he will close out the month strong with a featured performance at Miami’s Rolling Loud Festival on February 28th.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Action Bronson

by .

Your favorite rap-singing chef is on a roll, and he’s no ordinary hash slinger either. Signing deals left and right, one with Atlantic Records and one with G Pen, there is no doubt Action Bronson is becoming the Emeril Lagasse of the rap game and the hash game. Though, he claims on his new record, “Actin Crazy” produced by 40 and Omen, “All I do is eat oysters and speak six languages in three voices.” While that is rather outlandish, anything out of the ordinary seems to be his style, from body-slamming fans to highway motorcycle speed chases while on LSD (as seen in the video above). With his debut studio album Mr. Wonderful due to hit stores on March 24th, Bam Bam is set to have one of the most prolific years of his career. Catch Bronsoliño headlining Miami’s premier Hip Hop festival, Rolling Loud, on February 28th.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: QuESt

by .

The opposite of an overnight success, QuESt hails from early beginnings of the blogosphere, with successful mixtapes like Fear Not Failure, How Thoughtful and most recently Searching SylvanSigning alongside Logic to Visionary Music Group in 2013, he has undoubtedly been on a steady path to greatness in Hip Hop. As a South Floridian himself, his hometown heroism will be displayed as he hits the stage at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami on February 28th.
