Nuri – Requiem De La Vi

PRODUCERNuri
LATEST PROJECT: The Lightning EP

One of the best kept secrets behind the boards in Miami is undoubtedly Nuri. The Pro Club Ent. producer known to work with Robb Bank$ recently ignited the stage at TakeOffxLanding festival in Tampa with a live set of trippy, ethereal vibes. Said vibes can be found throughout his latest track from SoundCloud entitled “Requiem De La Vi,” which samples some mesmerizing French vocals complemented by Nuri’s twirling hi-hat patterns and thumping kicks. Yet again at III Points this year, he will be making a memorable appearance with all types of live production and DJing. Until then, fans can enjoy this audibly-pleasing record along with his Lightning EP while looking out for production on Robb’s Year Of The Savage album.

Premiere: The Pyrvmids – FODG Mix Vol. 1: The Warning

Miami’s own producer-extraordinaire The Pyrvmids gave Citrus Rap the green light to premiere a new mix that is sure to provide the essential vibes for any given situation, whether it’s a road trip, commute, or a typical chill sesh with the homies. Recently featured in the “Florida’s Natural” interview series, Pyrvmids leaves fans and newcomers alike with more exclusive content yet again. For this instance, he leaves the statement below:

Just really wanted to give my supporters a look into what I’ve been up to and what I vibe to right now. It’s new and unheard music and I just wanted to deliver a vibe you can smoke & be progressive to.

All unreleased tracks in this mix was produced by The Pyrvmids.

Robb Bank$ – Cloverfield [EP]

In the midst of a recording binge, Robb Bank$ has obviously been churning out some heat outside of Year Of The Savage—of which a release date seems imminent, but still tough to call at this point. Regardless, 2phone knowingly takes care of fans with frequent loose cuts dropped on SoundCloud. With his brand new 2-track Cloverfield EP, the story doesn’t change. Phone recorded two freestyles, mixed them and released it all last night. It contains a new banger entitled “Sensational,” produced by Nuez, as well as a freestyle over Chris Travis‘s “Crunchtime” single. Once again, Robb comes through with that fire. YOTS out soon…

PS: Robb’s “Snap” Video is out now too.

Interview: Florida’s Natural with Lil Champ FWAY

Lil Champ FWAY

As many local fans are aware, Florida has one of the most overlooked Hip Hop circuits, not only in the region, but the entire country. While it can be tough for local creatives to break out from the scene, Citrus Rap makes strides to continue to uplift the Floridians who are on their way up. Said creatives, seen all over CitrusRap, can be found making moves statewide— some even venturing out of state. Still there are several unanswered questions for these rising stars, so we went ahead and formulated a questionnaire to clear the air. This is a new interview series we call “Florida’s Natural,” so that fans can gain insight on the individuals who we believe have the juice.

Lil Champ FWAY, FWAY God, Champ, or FWAY.

Where do you reside; what’s your hometown?

Last year it was LA and Sacramento. This year, I started the year off in ATL. Now, I’m in Denver. My Hometown Is Miami, FL—Carol City, to be exact

Why do you rap?

Because I love music, and the more I record, I grow to love music and appreciate everything about it. Music is me; I breathe music.

Who do you look up to?

I look up to my momma and grandma…music-wise, I’m inspired by Lil Wayne, Nas, 2pac, Dipset, and Gucci Mane. I watch and learn from those guys.

How old are you now and how old were you when you first released your music on the internet?

28 now. I was 20 when I released my first song on the net.

What 3 albums of 3 different genres shaped you as an artist?

Ginuwine’s The Bachelor, Mase’s Harlem World, and Kenny G’s Greatest Hits.

What do you bring to the live stage setting that captivates crowds?

My energy and dance moves is crazy! I always have the FWAY Boyz wit me (Harvey G FWAY and V Dot Loco). We feed off of each other’s energy and we just go crazy. We like to entertain. We like that spotlight.

How do you portray your personality in your music?

I’m different. I never come wit the same sound or emotions. When  listening to me, you know, “OK, this nigga dont give a fuck,” on some tracks, and on some others, “he’s spitting real shit; droppin’ jewels”—so when listening to me, you know it’s no extra shit.

Do you care about social media?

Yeah and No. Yeah, because I need it for my music. No, ’cause sometimes it’s a bunch of BS.

Is it ever difficult to express yourself?

Sometimes; ’cause I’m outspoken and brutally honest.

What song describes your current mood?

Johnny Cinco’s “Understand Me.”

When can people expect your next big release/placement?

Soon I’m dropping a new EP, Aqua FWAY. Get ready for that.

Anything else to add?

I’m really from CC, I’m really from LA, I fucks wit ATL and Texas Niggaz, I’m in Denver right now, I’m from everywhere, B. Let’s spread this Florida music ‘cross the world. Let’s unite; fuck the BS.

FTLiENS – BRWD

by .

DIRECTOR: Unkle Luc
PROJECT: FTLiENS

The 954 might as well be it’s own country. If that were to ever occur, this song by default would be the national anthem. South Floridian producer/musician Numonics and Lauderdale OG underground rapper Bleubird team up to form FTLiENS, of whom have a full-length album out now. Their latest visual offering is an epic display of Broward County culture and landscape, with extremely tight cuts and eye-catching effects courtesy of Miami’s own Unkle Luc. Checking out the “BRWD” video above just might have viewers fiending for a visit to Las Olas or The $wap $hop. But for those trying to rep the FtL, go no further than their merch page to get fresh.

Robb Bank$, Nick León, Twelve’Len, Nuri to Perform at III Points 2015

3 points

Come the second weekend of October, Wynwood, Miami is in for a real spectacle. The fine folks behind neighborhood cutting-edge music venue Bardot are bringing back what is sure to be a household name in the music festival circuit—especially after this year. While III Points has always stayed relatively clear of genre-bias, the recurring theme throughout the lower bill is undoubtedly South Florida—from 2PhoneNick León, Twelve’Len, Nuri, & Sean Bang, to notorious eclectic acts like bass man Otto Von Schirach, Palm Beach indie rock band Surfer Blood, and Radio-Active Records’ very own Mikey Ramirez spinning all vinyl of course. The true rap fans will also be happy to know that DOOM and Ghostface will be performing exclusive DOOMStarks cuts during their set. Overall, it’s a blessing of a lineup, not to be missed.

pyrvmids

List your current Alias(es):

I’m known as The Pyrvmids musically, but the people that hang with me just call me by my name, Brandon. I wouldn’t mind either one.

Where do you reside; what’s your hometown?

My home city is Miami. I reside here. I’ve lived in almost every region in Miami. I identify with it all.

Why do you make beats?

I produce because its always been a medium for me to express myself, through the drums, the samples, synthesizers. All of those sounds convey more emotion to me then actually writing words.

Who do you look up to?

Deion Sanders,  Farrakhan, UnkleLuc

How old are you now and how old were you when you first released your music on the internet?

Right now I’m 23, and I first released my music online at 17 via MySpace (very bad music at that). I was in my college dorm room rapping on a webcam with no shirt on and I posted the video on my page. I hope no one finds that (lol).

What 3 albums of 3 different genres shaped you as an artist?

Confessions – Usher (R&B).

Graduation – Kanye West. I actually have this album cover art tattooed on my right forearm.

Nevermind – Nirvana.

What do you consistently bring into your production that captivates ears?

Texture, and pure emotion. I make sure I stamp each of my productions even when I’m collaborating. I try to add emotion and texture—that’s my signature.

How do you portray your personality in your music?

Every beat/song is different with me. I make every beat off of a thought or emotion. They are always different but will always represent my personality at the time. You can hear my personality in my production or writing style.

Do you care about social media?

Not really. I use it to talk to my supporters, my people. I don’t get caught up in what the media feeds the masses. I try to get online and combat that and give my people real natural thoughts and ideas to help them progress through the daily bullshit life throws at us each day.

Is it ever difficult to express yourself?

Never, and I thank God for that. I watch so many people react like cranky infants throughout life because they don’t know how to express themselves properly and convey the proper emotions. They get angry and upset and that’s all they know how to give off. I’m an artist, it’s my job to help people express themselves or at least relate to my expression.

What song describes your current mood?

Right now its “Hope” – Prez P (Prod. The Pyrvmids) ….that song is off The Preztige project that we just dropped, but it means so much to me because it is perfect for what’s going on in the world right now. My current mood is progressive and proactive. I’m ready for change, even if I HAVE to be that change.

When can people expect your next big release/placement?

I have no idea. I took about a half a year off to focus on real life and separate myself from the music scene. I produced while I was on my break but I have no idea where those tracks will go. I’ve found more peace in purely creating music and just letting the people pick it up and make it a smash. All I can do is focus on making the best music I can, and I’m gonna keep it that way.

Thank you guys so much for this, I really appreciate the love. I see you guys grinding trying to push the culture. You have my full support—let’s make history.
