Philly Blocks – Mr. 17th (EP)

HOST/NARRATORS: DJ Murph & Ben Staxx
STREAM: via Spotify/Apple Music/Tidal

Philly Blocks

Kentucky’s Philly Blocks is back on CitrusRap with his long awaited EP, Mr. 17th. A six track melee, hosted by NBA Youngboy’s official sound provider, DJ Murph, alongside DJ Ben Staxx. An EP full of vigorous sounds that’ll amplify the listener’s ears and send an adrenaline shot through your blood stream. Philly Block’s explosive flows and witty jabs is what makes this project a must listen.

Will Reese – Pure (Prod. SoulKidKarma) [Single]

PRODUCER: +Karma
ART WORK: @goodwithsub
STREAM: via Spotify/Apple Music/Tidal
ALBUM FEATURED ON: Caution | Releasing Dec. 4th, 2020

Just moments away from blessing us with his anticipated, joint album alongside producer +Karma, Caution, Orlando’s, Will Reese continues to attack. December can’t get here fast enough, as this tag team duo have been creating some killer, golden rounds together. Like Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks.

This go around, Will Reese, also stylized as WILLXREESE, lets loose the smooth feel good bop for the fall and winter, simply entitled “Pure” An unorthodox and eerie, yet sweet sample playing under smooth, airy pads and incredibly rhythmic drums, as Will Reese is talking shit and preaching at the same damn time. Let’s not forget about that flawless tone switch. What is there not to enjoy about this track? So give it a spin and thanks up later.

Caution is on the way.

GenoDa1 – Someone Else (Prod. IVN) [Single]

PRODUCER: IVN
STREAM: via Spotify/Apple Music/Tidal

Today, Homestead native, GenoDa1 makes his return to CitrusRap. Hitting us with a gold mine produced by IVN, entitled “Someone Else”. A strong message of lust filled confusion and mis-commitment at the very start until the end of the track. Geno takes a subtle and addictive approach to what we refer to now as “mood music”. Smooth trance like drums and hella substance in the lyrics to touch any and every soul that listens.

GenoDa1

Staying fixed and consistent on his mission to success, GenoDa1 continues to show and prove why he’s a force to be reckoned with, without succumbing to any lifestyle changes. With a big year ahead of the young man and the team that he calls a family, Geno has a spotlight on him and high expectations from the people to remain constant with the quality of work that he’s known for putting out.

GenoDa1

Off top the production itself places the track in a good light. Great patterns, perfecting timing, and a mesmerizing sample playing throughout. But GenoDa1 gives it what it may have been missing, a tantalizing presence with slick vibrant lyrics. Take a listen for yourself.
