The Perico Princess is back and with her upcoming project “Knock On Wood” in the process of dropping soon, Bia decides to share a visual entitled “Bobby Brown.” Director Stephen Garnett (who also directed ”All Around The World”) takes a more trill & energetic approach by showing Bia in Wynwood chilling with the dope graffiti artist Jas9. The video then switches up to several scenes of her posse mobbing out in different isolated locations, giving the video a more aggressive feel, as well as matching the dominating tone of the single as well. Homage is paid to the great R&B sensation Bobby Brown, showing vintage footage of Bobby Brown’s interviews & his own visual “Every Little Step’s.” You can catch the Boston native performing live at the Revolt Music Conference this weekend in Miami by purchasing tickets here. From doing freestyles over singles such as “Enemies”, “No Type” and “Tuesday”, i Am Other artist Bia released her own version of “Senorita” which was originally a Vince Staples track featuring a Future sample. Throughout the freestyle, the Boston native is well known for spitting mad bars and adding her own Spanish feel while giving it a dark grimy concept. Also in the video Bia switches it up in different scenes by showing more of the Chola persona shes portraying and then showing a more grown yet still hood side of her. It’s always a good feeling seeing an artist you’ve witness coming up in the game and they’re doing amazing. The introduction is a short, yet intense experience title track, “Sage Mode”. The latter called “Serpentz” a more distressing and melodic track about betrayal, that is as heavy and powerful as its title. Followed by our staff favorite, “Reaper Death Seal”, a brash hitting psalm. “Hidden Rain Village” is a bar filled, hard hitting anthem for the perfect flex, featuring a state favorite, Michaela Paladio. With only eight track an each track getting better as the project progresses, it’s difficult pick and pull out this pot. It’ll be best for you to do as we say and play Sage Mode in its entirety. Soon followed by “That Feely Feeling That Feels Feely” featuring Roman. A brash hitting psalm, that oozes self reliance in the lyrics. But if we were forced to choose a staff pick, it would have to be “GOINOVERTHESKYWAYBLINDFOLDEDAT140FUCKITWHYNOT”. A free flowing, double and triple entendre filled, hard hitting anthem for the perfect flex. It sounds like something that Ghostface and Raekwon would play before they hit the block in Staten Island. The definitive soundtrack for real emcees.
