Twelve’Len – Sixteen (ft. Emma Zander)

by .

WRITERS: Twelve’Len & Emma Zander
PRODUCER: Zach Fogarty

As promised, Twelve’Len releases another amazing track for the soul. “Sixteen” is a psalm meant to reminisce of the youthful love of ones past. Produced by Zach Fogarty and co-written by Emma Zander.

Here’s a quote directly from the young god, Twelve’Len about the creation process of “Sixteen”:

“I observed something strange that really struck me a few days before getting into this record. I was sitting at a college and I saw a young couple that seemed to be in love, and I watched the way they interacted for a while. It took me back to a time in my life- much younger than I am now. They were appearing to be so into each other, that the way they were interacting felt cliché- fake even as if they were just trying to convince each other (and themselves) that they are in love. Then I saw an older couple just moments later. They were years ahead the previous couple, but in my eyes, it wasn’t their age that made them less affectionate or any less in love just because they weren’t smothering each other. They told they had been married for 33 years. It amazed and baffled me, and made me question what love is. And how love is supposed to act. But before all of that, I was in a situation with a girl. She felt that if I didn’t hold her hand in public I was ashamed of her or loved her less. That shit’s crazy.”

“Zach producing and mixing a record like this made me want to gift it to the world and to my fans who will be at the Red Bull Sound Select show February 24th.”

Be sure to catch Twelve’Len live in concert in Miami on Feb 24th, for Red Bull Sound Select’s 3 Days In Miami. Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE.

Irie Reyna – The Message

by .

PRODUCER: Bicks Boogie

One of South Florida’s next queen’s has emerged with little to no warning and it’s everything that we hoped for. Irie Reyna creates an airy, seductive psalm full of animus and tenderness for the a world in dire need of affection with “The Message”. A Bicks Boogie produced, neo soul like vibe that’s reminiscent of Erykah Badu and Jill Scott playing over loud speakers on Sunday mornings. Irie Reyna gives her own account of the inspiration behind her debut track, “The Message”:

I’ve struggled for a while trying to find my sound, a lot of it has to do with me still identifying myself & the fact that I overthink everything. One night I was just listening to beats & I had a pull toward this track. It all came from my experiences with love in it’s many forms. I like to think that whether you’re my own mother or someone I just met two minutes ago, I’m going to treat you with the same respect so it’s only right I demand it back. People get so caught up in nailing the impression that sometimes the imprint they leave on someone is no where near who they are because they were trying so hard to be impressive. I’m just so over the hype of vanity & I want to help people be open to how they feel instead of cowering out of the situation which seems to be so popular in our culture now. I want females to be able to listen to my music and say, “Wow that’s everything I wanted to tell that boy but never could cough up in the moment”. I want guys to realize that it aint a man’s world anymore. This is the new age and no matter what it is I want to accomplish, no boy is going to stop me from chasing my dreams. I want the empowerment to go both ways though, I want guys to be empowered to be a better man so they can handle a real woman. All in all it’s just my way of showing, you’re either gonna love me or leave me alone.
Irie Reyna (2017)

So as the moonlight hits and the incense burn, put this track on repeat to set the ultimate vibes for a soulful night. You’re welcome.
