Native Youth – Understatement (ft. JK The Reaper)

by .

PRODUCER: Kaixen
ARTWORK: Native Youth

Native Youth, a deity of passion, is taking R&B and alternative music to astral levels in South Florida. The Miami vocalist has been making waves throughout headphones for the past year, since releasing her project Polarized back in September of 2016. This go around Native Youth makes her CitrusRap debut with a smash hit for the lovers with “Understatement”, featuring JK The Reaper. As the cloudy & soulful ambience that Kaixen provided suits both of the vocalist’s songwriting tones, Native Youth’s patient breeziness and JK The Reaper’s gritty, fast rhythm makes for the perfect contrast for this track. Saying that this is a great track would be just that, an understatement. Factually, “Understatement” is a step by step guide to love. One that this world needed.

PRODUCER: Henry Daher
ARTWORK: DeadMonBernz/Uncle Bernz

As we wait for his highly anticipated horror flick mixtape, HELLRAISER. Danny Towers releases “Wooly”, a gritty and absolutely grimy song that gives you goosebumps, that’s full of thrill. Henry Daher who produced the track, sets the vibe with light hollow piano keys with a hard grungy bass-line. Don’t sleep on this track as it builds a lot more excitement to what will come to his mixtape HELLRAISER that’s soon to come.

HenryDaher – Back n 4th (ft. NIKO IS) [Prod. by HenryDaher]

by .

PRODUCER, ENGINEER & BACKGROUND VOCALS: HenryDaher

All in a day the musical mastermind, HenryDaher, produced and mastered an entire banger called “Back N 4th”. We all know how he does, but on that same day he called up NIKO IS, who blessed the instrumental with a fatality of a verse to strengthen this heavy hitter of a track. Once we think that HenryDaher has done it all, we listen a little closer to the beat and can hear melodic hums in the background, assisting to the airiness of the beat. Of course that’s HenryDaher getting his Kid Cudi on. Thank you for this 2 minutes of blessings. Central FL is on one for the 2017.

Red The Ruler – Bank (Album) [Prod.Nuez]

by .

As Florida’s underground rap scene continues to grow, we at CitrusRap continue to pursue new artist discovery. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Red the Ruler just dropped his 8 track EP “Bank” featuring his work with established producer Nuez (WifisFuneral, Robb Bank$). The collaboration between artist and producer creates signature sound throughout “Bank” which is fueled by modern trap, with a mix of late 90s and early 2000s Southern inspiration providing head nodding rhythm, raunchy lyrics and punchlines. The EP is full of melodic synths, heavy 808 bass drums and crisp snappy snares. Red The Ruler’s standout tracks “Bitch I’m back”, “Dollar Bill” and “Crazy” are definitely about his lifestyle all based on making boss moves in the game with Red’s bravado vividly descriptive on every track.

You can stream the album anywhere from Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify & Soundcloud.
