Rolling Loud Roll Call: Case Arnold

by .

Case Arnold is a 23-year-old rapper from a place called Clarksville, Tennessee. While, most people would be quick to dismiss any Tennessee rapper not from Memphis, the young spitter has rightfully put in the work, despite having a father who worked as a producer in Nashville for several years. Recognized as a scene veteran, the Clarksvillain has made his rounds performing throughout the greater Tennessee area (including a coveted opening performance at a stop on Wale’s Ambition tour), as well as venturing out of state to perform in Arkansas, Michigan, Florida, and continues to perform untapped music scenes around the country. His notoriety on the internet includes an array of mixtape releases, from his debut Bedhead Diaries to 2012’s The Myndstate. With a will to succeed as a performing artist, Case continues on his path as he embarks on a quest to take his talents to Miami for Rolling Loud Festival this Saturday.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Retro Sushi

by .

The duo consisting of Jace & CEEJ, known as Retro Sushi, is certainly a staple of the Two-9 Hip Hop collective out of Atlanta that has been booming ever since their initial formation. The two gained their notoriety shortly after the release of their Kung Fu In Japan mixtape, ultimately leading to their signing with Mike Will Made It’s Eardrummers Entertainment last year. Signing around the same time was rising Atlanta sensation Rae Sremmurd, of whom Jace appears on their debut album Unlock The Swag. They also appear on B4FRVR: the first Two-9 release as a collective since signing the deal, which features fellow members Curtis Williams and FatKidsBrotha, as well as Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign. More importantly, the dynamic duo will bring their eccentric live performance to the Odd Sox Stage at Rolling Loud Festival this Saturday in Miami.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Curren$y

by .

What more is there to say about this legendary New Orleans MC, who has been non-stop for the past decade, releasing over a dozen projects, including a billboard-charting single and album, countless sold-out tours, and several major brand collaborations, all ultimately leading to his signing to Warner in 2011. Upon signing, Curren$y further enhanced his brand with the official sub-imprint label Jet Life Recordings, under which he signed Sir Michael Rocks of Cool Kids fame, along with his prodigy Young Roddy and the rest of his inner-circle of emcees. Stacking those residuals, he plays his money smart, investing in small business with ST Customs auto company based in New Orleans being his main project outside of music. While you can regularly catch Spitta either in the lab working on Pilot Talk 3 or showcasing his car collection via Cruise Life Car Club on his various social posts, you can certainly catch him in the flesh performing all of the hits and hopefully some unreleased Ski Beatz records on Saturday, February 28th at Rolling Loud Festival.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Ryshon Jones

by .

Philadelphia’s very own Ryshon Jones has been making his fair share of noise in the rap game. The 23-year-old MC first hit the internet in 2011, with several mixtape releases that had production from rising Chicago producer Thelonious Martin (“New Jet City” by Curren$y) and West Palm Beach’s own Danny Dee (“Brad Jordan” by Isaiah Rashad), garnering the attention of bloggers and fans alike. However, it was not until his breakthrough project Hope Is A Dangerous Thing that some major looks would start to come his way, from Vice/Noisey interviews to Complex premieres. Having released such an abstract and artistically mature body of work with critical acclaim, he was able to touch big stages on multiple occasions at events such as SXSW, A3C, CMJ, and recently opening for Big KRIT and Two-9 on their Pay Attention tour. Continuing a streak of career-building performances, the Philly rapper will touch down in Miami and bless the stage on Saturday, February 28th, at Rolling Loud Festival.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Cashy

by .

Miami’s Cashy has taken vintage fashion to a step beyond what others have attempted in rap over the years, turning the flashy, holographic, Clinton-era urban flare into a signature look that is becoming more and more recognizable. He has even coined his clique, the “Vintage Mob.” And media powerhouses like Spin, Vice and Complex have supported his music, adding his name to the list of recognized South Florida acts on the rise. Equipped with No Limit-style artwork, he teamed up with Purpdogg, a NY producer responsible for Drake’s “We Made It”, to release his Platinum Plus EP, which was the beginning of his internet success. Cashy and Purpdogg are due to be dropping their Holographic Art EP this Spring. Until then, he will be hitting the stage, notably in his hometown of Miami at Rolling Loud Festival on February 28th.

Rolling Loud Roll Call: Alex Wiley

by .

Alex Wiley is a 22-year-old Chi-town MC who has been steadily on the rise over the past year and a half after the release of his debut Village Party project, receiving accolades such as being named an Artist To Watch in 2014 by Chicago Magazine, a XXL Freshman nominee, and most recently an ‘Artist You Need To Listen To In 2015’ by Huffington Post. Wiley has not shown signs of slowing down. In fact, quite the contrary, as he recently took to twitter to announce his next mixtape (currently untitled) is dropping within 30 days. To prepare fans and those alike, he released a self-produced single called “Ready,” an ambient, downtempo, experimental record that shows signs of progression with the young up-and-coming rapper. Alex Wiley has also been able to take his talents well outside of his windy city comfort zone, headlining showcases at SXSW and A3C. He is due to hit Europe in April, but before he does, he will bless the stage in Miami at the inaugural Rolling Loud Festival on February 28th.
