I’ve never thought of jazz rap to be a thing, and if I had I probably wouldn’t have thought it would be something I’d enjoy listening to, but as soon as I heard “Bump on a Log” I was quickly impressed. Tampa native Granata dazzled his way through the FloFilz beat to create a smooth, pleasant track. This is definitely a song you can kick back and just zone out to, enjoy the cut above.
SAMPLE: oOoOOsounds DRUM PRODUCTION BY: Chris Travis UPCOMING RELEASE: See You There RELEASE DATE: May 27
Chris Travis is back, and he doesn’t disappoint as always. “You know, You know” is lit, the water boy ironically never fails to drop fire tracks, going bar after bar he kills it on the empirical beat, first starting aggressively sleek and keeping it tranquil throughout. He also announced that his upcoming See You There release is due May 27th.
Usually when someone loses years of work, it takes them a while to recuperate but in Chicago’s Supa Bwe’s case, he wasted no time release two EP’s in the course of a week. DEAD AGAIN and DEAD AGAIN PT. 2 included production by Sammi Beatz, Zen Zan, Mullato Beats, Samurai Sim and Supa Bwe himself. I know what most people would think at this point, how can good content be created in such a short span of time? I don’t know the answer to that, but the Hurt Everybody rapper did it, both EP’s are tight and nothing less than impressive. Definitely aux chord music, if you don’t believe me listen to both of the two EP’s above.
