Rolling Loud Artist Roll Call: Pryme Rothstein

by .

Jamal Williams, best known by his stage name Pryme Rothstein, is on the come up.  Looking up to and idolizing the hustlers on the corner while growing up, Pryme wanted the fly whips and chains they had. As a kid, seeing all this planted the seed for desire to want the same things. Living in Nassau Bahamas, he realized it wasn’t exactly the suburban American experience which in turn made him value perseverance and responsibility, as well the desire for a better life. Shortly, he moved to Miami and this is where he really started to take his music career seriously. Though his first move to Miami was rough, he pushed forward past all the distractions and found refuge with music an developing his craft. Rothstein’s exotic punch lines & delayed delivery is what sets him apart from everyone else in the game. Pryme is currently in the studio working on Pryme Example, which is expected to feature QC’s very own, Rich The Kid. You can pick up his debut mixtape, The Effort, and catch him at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami on February 28th.

Although he has been locked up for months, Bobby Shmurda continues to make headlines. The ‘Hot N***a‘ rapper told the New York Times he is looking to sever ties with his current record label, EPIC Records.  The frustration comes in large part from the failure of EPIC Records to post Shmurda’s $2 Million bail. “When I got locked up, I thought they were going to come for me,” he said in an interview from the Manhattan Detention Complex, “but they never came.” Shmurda also goes on to say,  “I’m going to try my best to go back on the deal.” Read the full article here.

N01 – Kamikaze: Modern Day Emmett Till

by .

PRODUCER: SOBmusic
UPCOMING PROJECT: FUCKmayoEpisode2 EP
RELEASE DATE: TBA

N01 on “Kamikaze”:

“Always being swayed by propaganda in the government, media, and classroom, I have always had a keen sense for what’s real, right in front of us. Although we have made great strides in minority awareness, we are still lacking leaders that are strong enough to stand for righteousness and instead, we are producing more “brainwashed” followers. I decided to attend a Black history speech at my school, and that was when I heard the Emmett Till story in it’s full length. I have decided to name this track after Emmett, because I too am flirting with a obsolete system of white society, alerting minority to be aware of what’s going on around them. It could possibly kill me. But alike Emmett Till, I am positive in knowing that one death can spark a whole revolution of minority significance. Because we matter.”
