Miami based fashion brand, Metrorave, teamed up with production duo Paperwater to present you with South Florida’s first fashion exhibition of the year, KURO! This event featured sounds by rising Broward DJ’s 74.97, Gum, and Paperwater. There were performances by some of South Florida’s emerging artists such as 36JuJu, Dyna Edyne, Slimoe, and a surprise performance by Miami’s very own Skodi. Along with the extraordinary designs of Metrorave by local seamstress Countess Brown, the runway was bursting with different textures and fabrics. The fashion designer encapsulates the essence of afro-futurism within the details of her work. Evidently, her electrifying and eccentric color palettes, sets the bar when it comes to these daring garments. Each design held its own personality which complimented the demeanor of each model. Giving them strong distinct looks that kept our eyes glued to their astonishing appearance. Everything was done precisely, from rehearsals to showtime. It took time and effort but overall, the blueprint was brought to life. It was a mesmerizing experience that defines the art of fashion. While music and fashion go hand and hand, this event displayed the correlation between both mediums. The sounds combine with the creative visuals created an experience that was worth the wait. Congrats to Countess Brown and the Metrorave team, and everyone that participated. It was a special affair, and I was more than honored to witness greatness.
