K.Burns Rips Sway In The Morning Friday Cypher (Video)

It was the night of the Def Jam 30th Anniversary at the Barclays Center in late October 2014; when Sway Calloway & Rich Nice met K.Burns as he walked into his house in Brooklyn across the street from the arena packed with Hip-Hop Legends. Eager to get a review of his skills by that well known Tastemaker & DJ, K.Burns asked and was given the opportunity to show what he had. Impressed by the raw lyrical content & witty punchlines, Sway promised that he would give the emcee a chance to showcase his talent live on his Friday Cipher on his Sway In The Morning Show on Sirius XM Radio.

4 weeks later in November 2014; K.Burns found himself at the radio station live on air with Sway Calloway, Rich Nice, Heather B & the rest of the Sway In The Morning crew; where his single at the the “Shine” produced by KidArt was played on air, getting great reviews from the callers & listeners all around the country. From there the Friday Cypher was on & the rest was history in the making. [See Full Video Recap]

Riding the organic momentum of his national radio appearance, Burns took the initiative to expand on an already local buzz that had been growing from years of previous Mixtape Releases with DJ On Point & an appearance on BET Rap City that he had nurtured on the Brooklyn Hip-Hop scene; by launching his indie label Team Fame Music Group, LLC in March 2015.

His latest release “A Stoner Life EP” was released in conjunction with The Mosis Cafe via Soundcloud on “420” of 2015. K.Burns was then able to fund his very first independent tour (#AStonerLife2015Tour) and release a limited collection called “A Stoner Life Limited” consisting of various fashion pieces, secret mp3’s & physical copies of A Stoner Life EP.
Taking the 2015 tour to markets such as Boston, Upstate NY, Maryland & Tampa, K.Burns released his collection throughout the collective of markets.

Relocating to Tampa, FL to reunite with his business partner & mentor Max Garcia is just a scratch on the surface of what is to come from K.Burns & his newly formed independent brand Team Fame Music Group, LLC. Now on his #AStonerLife2016Tour; Burns is releasing his 2016 Spring Collection and hitting a host of performances throughout various markets.

Sunny Fritz – 57.73 (Video)

by .

DIRECTOR: Pablo Vasquez

Last month Sunny Fritz came through with his track “FNWH” now he’s resurfacing with a visual. “57.73” was a dope track on its own, but if you’ve seen Sunny’s previous visual for “Honey Bourbon” you know that he never disappoints in bringing a fire visual. Play above and check back for more from the rapper.

Jah – x2 (Video)

by .

A while back Jah dropped a visual for his track “x2” and has been resurfacing the web lately, and with good reason. The sinister video is a collar between two of South Florida’s go-to directors, MarsMarsMars and Flower Cop, and let me just say i don’t think we’ll every see/hear anything average as long as Jah’s name is on it. Play above and to stream the track individually click here.

Be sure to read below on his life/music as of late:

Hey everyone, I really appreciate every single one of you that play, dissect, and love my music. It really means a lot to me, more than you’ll ever think… Reason being, I put all of my effort into everything I create, whether it be music, sculptures, paintings, art, stories, you name it…

As of late (2016) I’ve been going through a really tough time… In life, music, friendship, family, relationships, and financially. I decided to reevaluate each part of those categories to figure out and directly respond to the problems individually. One of them being that my music is all over the place and my sound changes so drastically song to song… I started to notice labels, supporters, fans, listeners, music enthusiasts, and even my friends have a tough time pin pointing exactly what it is I do and what my style really is. To put it simply, its progressive… I try to impress myself, and do something I’ve never attempted or ever had the courage to try to pull off (musically & artistically). I love to test my limits and break each boundary I set up for myself… Call it a short attention span or a lost creative, whatever you wanna… I just know that it’s what I like to do.

I’ve been told to my face that a style or artist like that won’t make it in music simply because it’s a gamble for labels, promoters, and A&R’s. Relying on an artist who constantly switches their style and sound to sell records, cd’s, streams, digital downloads, etc… is simply too much of a hassle and a “waste” of label funding. “We want something that will sell undeniably.”

I love to take risks, I love to improve, I love to shock and surprise. My music is not for the closed minded. I want my supporters to dig into my music, from the words I use down to the title and artwork (for the most part). “Why did Jah say it like this?” , “Why would those 2 topics be in the same line? Do they correlate to the title?”, “Why did he really name it this?”

I’ve decided to consolidate my soundcloud to make it easier for listeners to pick what songs they like and what “sound” they would want to hear a project of. So i decided to throw dropbox links to the project that correlates to each song. It’s a small gesture but I do know a lot of you guys listen to a lot of these songs regularly. Download the projects and spread the word of what I do and what Jah is capable of… Since these labels clearly don’t see it.

I’m a walking bank if you want to be honest… I produce my own music, record it, engineer it, write it, make/find the artwork, write my own video treatments, build with other artists and have created huge songs with them, draw, write, sculpt, paint, plan events, lead different artists to beginning roads to success (can’t walk with them the whole way), promote artists I work with (not just on twitter), design my own clothes, animate, plan my own gallery events and build idea after idea… Literally by myself. I try to explain to these investors and labels that I’m not a simple minded artist lol I’m here to really expand and create some life changing/game changing projects… But what the fuck do I know? I’m just another guy trying to chase his dreams…

You’ll be able to find updates of my work on jahrahmf.com, I’m working on becoming more active on there and posting updates of what I’m up to, but If ever you’re clueless as to what I’m up to you could always follow me on social media networks: @jahrahmf or @notjahrahmf (usually the first one)

Enjoy,

– Jah
