In the wake of his masterpiece release, By Any Dreams, Gats continues to bless the community by releasing his first visual of the tape a day early. In No L’s we find a plot synonymous with that of the undertones of By Any Means; Crime, Karma, and Loss. The video itself is shot as a silent film, subtitles in Spanish, and renders its own atmosphere aside from the album, though remaining complimentary. Dustin DeVars and Gats definitely took their time in completing this video as it matches the cinematic quality of the album itself, while still creating it’s own presence.
Deep, dynamic, and dreamy; By Any Dreams is a masterpiece.
By Any Dreams, preceded by Starship Jericho and HeelTV, is the third work in the unremitting narrative of Gats’ life. He posted earlier explaining that; “Starship Jericho was the bad day you had when you quit your job and sat in your car and cried. HEELtv is when you went home and stayed up till 4 trying to figure out what to do with your life (and) By Any Dreams is the nightmare you had when you fell asleep on the couch with the tv on.” In this record, Gats’ chronicles tribulations of a young black male who doesn’t have much to turn towards after turning 27. While honing in on his story-telling skills, he doesn’t fall short of his consistency with curated cinematic atmospheres in his projects. The opening track “dead revenants. (in media res)”, living up to his latin translation, “into the middle of things”, opens with Gats pulling up on 7th ready to take a life when, as quoted, his gun “jammed”. The album is everything you’d hear and feel in watching a movie on a black male in his mid-20’s suffering mental issues, except the imagery itself. This allows the listener to put themselves in the place of Gats as his narrations paint the picture around them. But even when heavy with content, the album boasts bangers like its singles “That Dope”, featuring Florida heavyweights Bizzy Crook and OG Sky with production from Black Metaphor, and “No L’s”, which has a visual aimed to release 11.3.2016.

Mike Mass is Tampa’s best secret that they can’t keep much longer.
Though long respected for his bars and beats, Mass has milked a brisk rise in recognition in his recent months since his Sway In The Morning freestyle. Periodically returning to the big apple for shows and radio talks has become a norm for the Bronx-Native that holds significant pride in his teenage home; Tampa, where he hosts his high-class rap showcase Wine & Rhyme.
Mike Mass returned triumphantly from his rap hiatus with his music video “Like That.” With Miles Cable on the visuals and Polish heavyweight Tuelv on production, it’s clear that Mass is cashing in the connections he’s made while hiding from the limelight.
