Mike The Emcee – Killsborough (Music Video)

by .

Director: Syntax Visuals (Dwight Morrison)

Mike The Emcee, gripping the tail end of the hype following his recent project, “IAJAN“, released the long-waited video for Killsborough over the weekend. In reference to his prior video, a title track visual for “IAJAN“, Mike’s partnership with Dwight Morrison, of Ides of March, provided an all-around sonically pleasing visual experience. Between the dark, wavering images of the first half, to the collection of bright blues and green of the second half of the video, the viewer could easily develop in-depth analyses of Mike’s message. See for yourself.

Kim – Let Me Pray

Kim, orlando’s newest rap ambassador, kindles the hype for the release of his “Seeking Forever EP”, coming 2017, with his new single “Let Me Pray”. He does what all local artists wish they could. He hits the ground running. Kim has a well-rounded, developed sound that consists of smooth transition between fast and melodic flows, as well as a delivery and cadence solidified with his heartfelt conviction. But Kim’s reach as an artist doesn’t stop with concrete music, but concrete writing as well. Perhaps its this fruitful product that prompted praises from T.I. and Trae The Truth on Kim’s previous release, “Ali”.

Chester Watson – Night Out To Tango

Chester Watson, the St. Pete MVP of poly-syllable rhymes and lo-fi downtempo lyricism, returned yesterday dancing to a different groove. Watson‘s Night out to Tango rings familiarity with his galloping walking-pace drums but, however, is also coupled with a new, smooth electric guitar that strays from our original Chester Watson. Listen “Night out to Tango” for a new, optimistic, mature, Chester Watson.

Chester Watson – The Storm (Video)

by .

Directors: Izzy Commers and Alan De Leon Taverna

Along with his new instrumental, “Night out to Tango”, lo-fi hero Chester Watson released a tranquil video for a song titled “The Storm”. The videos plays in blue tones synonymous to Pablo Picasso, one in recent reference of Chester, and his “Blue Period”. “The Storm”, as a song, is rather sing-songy, featuring our beloved auto-tune Chester that we haven’t seen since his Spring Mirage effort with Kent Loon. Perhaps Chester is mirroring the history of Picasso, leaving his Blue Period for, what Night out to Tango presents, the next step in Picasso’s life, the Rose Period… Is Chester in love?

Vaughny Vo – Tropicana (Music Video)

DIRECTOR: WINCHOZ

Orlando’s own Vaughny Vo returns with an anticipated visual from his buzzing “Tropicana single released earlier this year. Compare the new WINCHOZ-directed movie to earlier Vo and you’ll witness leaps in his growth.

Richie Guapo – Screwed Up (Mixtape)

Since his freshman project, Project LA, Richie Guapo dug his roots deep and grew in Tampa’s rap scene. Hard-hitting singles like “Death Row Mobbin” and “Teched Out” recently landed Guapo an opening slot for Joe Budden. His latest work Screwed Up is his first promising drop with attention from local heavyweights. Guapo’s music could be compared to a lovechild of early A$AP and late Pimp C. Listen above.
