Oh how I wished Meek Mill didn’t live up to his name. I was looking forward to a good ol’ fashion back and forth between Drake and Mill, but after two back-hands to Mill, all the Philly rapper was able to produce was a few tweets and a limp and in fact meek track when compared to Drizzy’s two diss tracks at Mill.

Rapper’s being fake and not providing their own lyrics is a big no-no in the rap world and Meek Mill went to Twitter after the release of his newest album Dreams Worth More Than Money to oust Drake for being fake and using a ghost-writer, which understandably resulted in the Shakespearian like feud that has been flooding my timeline.

Drake being the more popular (and way more respected) rapper, took to the offensive and dropped “Charged Up”. In “Charged Up,” the zoned-out ghost like instrumentals shrouds our minds in a calm ambiance though I feel it could have been a bit more hard hitting; little did I know that was just the first part of the proverbial round house kick to Mill.

Mill went back to Twitter to call the track “baby lotion soft” (which it kinda was), but failed to drop a comeback track resulting in the release of “Back To Back”; a great track with plenty of topical references from Mill riding Nicki Minaj’s coat tails to Mill’s “twitter fingers” and the one I find the most devastating “I mean woah, can’t fool the city, man, they know what’s up”, Drake‘s reference to the mad heat Mill is getting from fans.

Though I could understand how one could get frustrated over finding out Drake didn’t write his verse on “R.I.C.O.”, but at this point it’s just word of mouth. There has been no formal proof that Drake has a ghost-writer and inciting beef with someone that is known for producing a Publix aisle worth of beef isn’t the wisest thing for Mill’s to do.

As I wrote before Drake’s track basically turned everyone on social media against Mill, and to retaliate Mill finally set forth “Wanna Know”. “Wanna Know” is one of the flimsiest excuses for a diss track, so much so THAT HE HAS TO WRITE “DRAKE DISS” ON THE TITLE SO PEOPLE GET IT! I do have to give credit where it is deserved, “Now when that shit went down with Chris, you wrote a check In New Orleans wore my chain to get respect” is a good jab at Drizzy, but I wasn’t even able to decode that line till I looked up the lyrics.

This a fun distraction fueled by kids out of school hitting the social media hard but at the end of the day this is no Tupac and Biggie beef and neither of these tracks are “Hit ‘em Up”. But at this point it’s a widely excepted notion that Meek Mill should not have started shit. Since his frankly childish tweets over not getting recognition on his album the spotlight has been on him, if that was his plan or not his sale are surely to rise should he produce a track that actually makes people not boo him off stage. I expect more to be coming out from these two rapper before they both get into their feels and hug it out as studio gangsters are ones to do.
