LBO – Pickin’ Liquor (ft. Sophia Schoenau)

Kickin’ off the New Year right, 21-year-old emcee LBO gives us a sneak peak into his upcoming EP collaboration with grammy-awarding producer 88-Keys, title (TBA). “Pickin’ Liquor,” the first installment on the project, features powerful yet tasteful vocals by LBO and Sophia Schoenau. Listen to their anthem about enjoying every minute of your night out with the squad, and giving a big “Fuck You” to everybody that isn’t doing the same.

Although quiet for most of 2015, it seems the NY artist spent his time in New Orleans focusing on his craft, making this EP look more promising with this new drop. Backed by light violin strings that draw you in from the first rift, LBO and Sophia Schoenau compliment each other atop hard-hitting production from 88-Keys.

The track properly closes out with Sophia’s vocals fading out on top of a breakdown of the beat’s drum pattern, leaving the audience wanting more from LBO sooner than later. LBO is expected to drop another new track as indicated on his instagram page.

Premiere: Fresha – FGK (Video)

Director: Unkle Luc
Producer: Tha 4

Fresha has outdone himself with the release of his new Unkle Luc-directed visual, “FGK.” Although calm in nature, as an artist, Fresha is energetic and brings raw energy to the stage as well as his music. Expect this video to dominate your mind. The beat invades you. The hook is contagious. The cinematography captivates you.

The imagery in the “FGK” video is powerful. Fresha compares the impact of his music to that of kush. Fresha travels around town delivering music to diehard fans and supporters. His first stop was DJ Big Boy. As Fresha leaves, DJ Big Boy starts playing his music and the room begins to fill up with smoke. He then drops music off to some friends and the same thing happens. DJ Lucky C plays the music in his car and it fills up with smoke. Each gets stuck. The video closes with a slow motion, matrix type effect taking place. Everyone’s experience is symbolic of “FGK” being as high grade as kush. The mastermind behind this imagery and treatment is Unkle Luc, the director who gave us the visuals to Future’s “Trap Niggas.”

Watch “FGK” above.
