Biggest Boss: Top 10 Rick Ross Albums

Port of Miami 2

5. Port of Miami 2

Rick Ross’s Port of Miami 2 (album)

His 10th album, a sequel to Port of Miami is definitely one of his better projects. It’s a special one however it’s a bit underwhelming. It’s one of those “if it’s not broke don’t fix it” kind of albums where the Miami Don doesn’t take a risk or show growth. It’s a great album but it also suffers from its sequencing, starting off with “Act a fool” may not have been the best choice. However, Ross does show that he has an ear for features and beats. Tapping in Gunplay for “Nobody Favorite” where he just slides on the record smoothly. It’s good to hear from him. “BIG TYME” deserved it’s all-cap title as Just Blaze gives Rozay a glorious record with Swizz Beatz being the hype-man.   We get a posthumous verse from Nipsey Hussle and it just makes me depress that he’s gone.  On Vegas Residency, he opens up on his stance with Kanye West and we also get a bit of glimpse on his thoughts when he had to hospitalized after having a number of seizures.

Ross also continues his on going collaboration with Drake on “Gold Roses”, which sounds impeccable. Soft and sultry piano keys with the head of OVO and the Don of MMG at their peak sounds like VVS diamonds coated with chocolate.
