TRAPFONE – ENDORPHIN (Album)

Flip phone talk. Nextel chirp. TRAPFONE, our favorite digital laboratory experiment is finally back after a two year wait with their new album, ENDORPHIN. Tampa’s poet-producer duo, Betty Dawl & JXPVTTY are beginning to become myths within the underground. An electric and astral experience, only blessing the streets when they are in dire need of audio dope. I like to think of them as Florida’s very own rap Toro y Moi.

ENDORPHIN is a perfectly flowing project by TRAPFONE, that seems to put itself on repeat because it knows that you need to experience those waves once more. Then once again. With it being difficult to pick a standout track without naming the entire list, it’s hard to ignore the impact that “Loyalty” makes in a time where the word is looked at as a past time. But let’s not forget the traction that’s still building for the duo’s lead single “Sauce”. And what about the head bobbing and unapologetically heart warming ode to Tampa with “813”?! Or the sensual two part vibe out that is “Runaway”. Even the Pussy Palace inspirational fur baby, Quentin The Cat, got a theme song displayed on this work of art. Rooted through so much truth, when given attention, this album can be tear jerking.

A soundtrack for the day in the life of TRAPFONE, one of today’s most unique and expressive bands. Serving a wide range of vibrant rhythms and sounds throughout the spread of ten tracks. Each with a space age or color bursting day dream attached. This sound and these individuals aren’t anything that the world is used to, and still everything that the world needs during a time like this.

THIS SHIT BANG!
